Socialism has failed everywhere it has been tried, including the US. Yes, it was tried here, only it was single colony when it was tried. The Pilgrims attempted the great experiment, and if not for the good inhabitants of the land they settled in they would have perished. Those who learn they can survive without putting the effort forward will destroy a society.
