Bill Sargent proposes the following Amendment to the United States Constitution:
The 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution
"The term limits for elected Federal office shall be as follows: The President of the United States of America shall be limited to two consecutive terms of office, a total of 8 years. A United States Senator shall be limited to two successive terms of office, a total of twelve years. A member of the United States House of Representatives shall be limited to six consecutive terms of office, a total of twelve years.
No person may run for, be appointed to, or accept the offices of the President of the United States of America, US Senator, or US House of Representatives if they will exceed the age of eighty years old at any time during the intended term they campaign for.
No person may run for the office of the President of the United States of America, United States Senator, or United States House of Representatives without having served in the private sector or non-governmental entity as a full-time pursuit within the borders of the United States of America. Their primary source of income must have been derived from their full-time involvement in the private sector, a non-governmental entity within the borders of the United States of America, for a minimum of five consecutive years.
No person may serve as a judge in any federal court, the United States Supreme Court, United States District Courts, or any United States Court of Appeals beyond the age of eighty years old.
All laws passed by the United States Congress, except where otherwise addressed in the United States Constitution, shall apply to all members of the United States House of Representatives and the United States Senate equally as they do to all citizens of the United States of America."
