Long post sorry but I am so sick of this crap.
I am sick of the excuse of covid 19. It is no longer acceptable to say we cannot do this or that because of covid. Yes people get sick and die but no one has banned tobacco, drinking, motor vehicle driving. Pollution is rampant. The flu, pneumonia, and the big one mental illness and drug addiction are all going strong and why?
We cannot control any of them but we have come to terms with them and their death toll. We know that anyone of us at anytime can fall victim any of these various illnesses but life doesn't stop. More importantly it never did.
This hide in your house mandate isn't helping. Common sense has gone out the window. That is if today's America has any common sense at all. How about this Common sense approach: if your sick see your doctor let him tell you what to do and who you can and cannot be around. If your afraid of covid 19 stay home and don't go out. Your fear is justified and respected. If you've had covid 19 and you survived that is awesome I hope you are doing well. If you are a business owner be responsible keep things clean and run your business and work your people. If your a patron follow the rules but don't be afraid to go out.
There is a good possibility everyone will get covid 19. Yes some people will not survive. Shoot some people won't even get the shot when its available. How do I know this? Because we have a flu shot that plenty of people will not take. You can still die from the flu and having had the flu I never miss a flu shot I get it as early as possible. Why? Because I don't like to get sick.
The point I am making is this I cannot believe that as a state and as a country that we are 10 months into this and we haven't done a better job of managing schools. Routine medical appointments, restaurant employees and accessibility, the access to houses of worship, the fear mongering has been excessive and there isn't a single person in government who has handled this well.
It has led to the mistrust of both our government and our medical system. Common sense went right out the window but finger pointing excellerated and I didn't write this so that you can tell me that this person or that person it's to blame. Because all of them are. But the person who is most to blame is you and me. Had we stood up and said no. We don't accept these draconian rules without facts void of political gain or influence our lives would be 100% better so many other countries are doing so much better and I am afraid to say it but my belief is that political corruption is 100% responsible for our country's failure to move forward with lower numbers and better outcomes.
With the lack of incentive to return to work because there are jobs out there. people have not gone back but have been incentivised to stay home with large unemployment support. This has sent a message that the government is here to take care of you and that is not what the government is for. Their job is to follow the rule of law something none of them are good at just look around. Their job is to make sure your tax dollars are not wasted again something they are not good at. In addition to this the government is supposed to have the best interests of the people who elected them at heart. Instead they line their pockets with money from pacs and lobbiests. They are corrupt to the bone. They don't care about the people they care about staying in office. I know this is a long soap box post but I no longer have the stomach for the news media and the political posturing. I just want to be able to freely move about the country and the world without drama and I want common sense and morals back. I didn't write this to make light of covid but to point out we are being poorly represented by our representatives and huge sweeping changes need to be made and we need to have respectful and respectable representatives and more control of how we are moving as a nation. We cannot be divided on this ever the best for all of us should be everyones focus.
