I am rereading the book of Revelations. I am thankful for the book series "Left Behind" by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins. Makes it easier to see in my mind what is happening. I know the books are fiction...I just might reread the series. Considering what is going on....
There is so much finger pointing in the world today. There is so much hate. We have to remember there is a major battle going on for our souls. "God loves us and calls us by name while the devil calls us by our sin."
We need to pray for our eyes and the eyes of the world to be opened.
We just finished reading Acts chapter 9. Saul was filled with so much hate toward "the way"... Christians. He had just received permission to bring them back in chains. On the road to Damascus...Jesus spoke to him...those around saw a bright light. Saul was blinded. In verse 18 "And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales; and he received sight...."
There is so much hatred. Christians are being killed. People in houses of worship killed.
The division doesn't stop there. So much hatred in the differences of our colors. God created two rainbows...one as a promise never to flood the earth again...and the other is the different colors of our skin.
Even more division trying to cause hate between men and women. Even going so far as to hate people by their occupation. Or the people they vote for.
Then saying it is ok to harass someone and their family.
Let's stop the hate. When you get a thought in your head saying you hate...think if the source. Remember our God loves you...He sent His Son to die for us.
We need to pray. May the scales be removed from our eyes that we may SEE the TRUTH. That our ears are opened so we may HEAR the TRUTH. God please grant us wisdom.
Hope no one ever has need to ever use this information.
If you find yourself in an active shooter situation remember this
A. AVOID
D. DENY
D. DEFEND
Avoid. Head to the nearest exit away from the shooter. Make others aware of danger. Call 911 state only what you know.
Deny. Go to a room where you can lock or barricade the door. Turn off lights and cell phones. Find anything that can used as a weapon.
Defend yourself.
Please remember to follow law enforcement and what they say. Drop anything you have in your hands. Put hands up. They may not know who the shooter is.
From our training.
The majority of us have been to a Walmart. We might have friends working there or shopping there. Remember the friendly cashier or associate that is always ready to help.
You may not know those in Texas and Mississippi...but they are someone's friend or family. Someone they spoke to...just like the ones at your local Walmart or anywhere someone guided by hate intends to harm others.
I love rereading the Holy Bible. Today, I reread Jude. In my Bible NLT, there is a little information about the author and the book's content before the actual scripture. It says "Author: Jude, the half-brother of Jesus." Just like his brother James, they don't boast of their relationship to Jesus when they write.
About the content it says "Why do lies tickle our ears so much more than the truth? Others allow false information to be spread among us because it is interesting, and we are slow to put an end to it."
With so much information going around. False teachers, false prophets, and more. We need to pray for wisdom...not only for ourselves but for others.
