This has to go into the world.
This is the text of a witness of the Corona protests in Berlin, Germany, yesterday. The text was sent in a chat (the questions of the chat partner missing here). I put the text into the correct form and put it in the Apple translator.
This is outrageous. This feels like dictatorship!
When I assisted the speeches in occasion of the protests in September, I was outraged by the wrong reports on the media afterwards. They made it look as if only nazis had participated in that protest. That claim couldn’t be further from reality. Now they’re doing the same. In TV you hear how aggressive nazis attacked the police. So this is a true witness, and the text wasn’t even intended for the public. It was only a report given to a friend!
“So, back home safe and sound, knowing that we are ruled by a gang of criminals who only have our death as their goal in mind !!
Yeah, and it was awful. I never thought what these people are capable of! Never!
I've seen a lot of women cry whose husbands have been beaten. Women were also beaten. People were rounded up by dogs. With horses they caught those who fled into the park. People sang the German national anthem while being struck. They beat up a piano player and about 10 people lay down on him.
Thousands of people kneeled on the ground at the Brandenburg Gate and sang the hymn while being sprayed with water that also contained tear gas. A few people puked, many had their lips and eyes burned. Complete strangers fell into each other's arms, crying. A waiter, who had lost his job for 8 months because of the Corona measures, was walking around with a loudspeaker in front of the so-called Federal President's villa and taking orders for the pizzeria he worked for. Many ordered to appear. In front of the Villa Bellevue, where the politicians drove in their ostentatious cars in front of the demonstrators, the police cars stood in two rows. They drove to the side and formed a gate. Chains of police officers, some with dogs, stood around the house. They had perfect logistics. The water cannons, which people were afraid of, were set up within sight - I have to admit, me too, in the cold temperatures. Many people were still wet - with an outside temperature of 9 degrees. No Dixi toilets were allowed to be set up, no supplier was allowed to bring water or drinks, some did it in secret. Many people have shared what little water they had with the others. I've been thinking about my whole life there !!
No takeaways were allowed to be open! People who collapsed were not allowed to be treated by paramedics. No taxis were allowed in.
You can't describe it!
What sticks firmly in my mind is the connectedness of these people, as opposed to the ruthlessness of those who humiliated them. I will not be forgotten when a man from Berlin approached me and confessed that he would be 60 in May, had heavy sugar and was simply too cowardly to keep walking, also because his feet no longer allowed it. I hugged him and told him I think what he's doing is great. I also thanked him for his courage. Unfortunately, I forgot to get his phone number, maybe I would have called him one day, one way or another. I was also moved by the woman with the brightly colored hair who shared her cheese roll with me.”
And what does Euronews write today as big title?
