UGANDA PROMOTION

Before holding meetings in any given village, our evangelistic team visits the village and promotes the upcoming meetings. They do door-to-door canvassing, putting up posters, and passing out flyers. When our team crossed over from Kenya to Uganda for the promotional work, the Ugandans did not believe that we were really coming. They said, "A white man would never travel this far just for us". When they saw that we arrived, they were so excited, that they gladly heard the gospel and received the Lord.

HARD TO FIND TRANSPORTATION

When we travel as far as we can by vehicle, our options are limited. Here, we were able to hire a small truck. We stacked our baggage on the top and all the choir members rode in the back. Most of the time, we must endure some very crowded conditions for long distances to get to the trailhead leading to the remote villages. Sometimes, it is a relief to get out and walk after traveling so long in such cramped conditions. However, after our meetings are over and a new church is planted, we look back and say, “It was worth it!”

ROAD TO NOWHERE?

Our ministry is to take the gospel to those who have never heard it. That requires going to some very "out of the way" places, and an enormous amount of travel to get there. Sometimes it seems that we are going nowhere. It doesn't seem like there would be any civilization if you continued to drive down a road like this. It is amazing how vast the country of India is, and how much of it is completely desolate. However, over 1 billion people live there and most of them are lost in Hinduism. We eventually arrived at our correct destination, preached the Word of God, and planted another church there.

GAS STATION IN GHANA

This is what a gas station looks like in Ghana. You wouldn't even know it was a gas station if you didn't know what to look for. No bright lights; no colored signs for advertising; no machine with LED readouts; and no place to swipe your debit card. They do offer full service though! Labor is very cheap in Third World countries.

CROSSING THE RIVER

There was a village in Uganda that was so far back in the bush that there was hardly a path to follow. When we came to a river, we found that the village people had little to work with in constructing a bridge. The boards were not even flat to step on, and the wood looked like it may not be strong enough to hold my weight. Pastor Maungo took my camera across and had it ready to take my picture, not just to see me cross, but in case I fell in. I made it! More importantly, a new church was planted as a result of the meetings we held in the village!
