Nice to see fellow homemakers!
I covered these two chairs to make myself happy. I have sewn since I was 10 yrs old. I'm not great at it but at a young age hand me down clothes was all there were until a sewing machine was gifted to me.

When my husband and I were younger, we were always home owners. Now being in our senior years it is better for us to rent. We are now renting a two bedroom townhouse, 1 1/2 bathrooms and a nice sized basement for my washer and dryer. I sewed all my own drapes for the townhouse. I had a pair of drapes from our former apartment that I had shortened and now the drapes are on my kitchen window. The most difficult job was making the drapes for the living room. Since I wanted the drapes to be full. I had to mathematically figure out how much fabric to buy. It’s always better to buy extra fabric than to short change yourself. Since I had some remaining fabric left over, I made three matching pillows for my couch.
I sewed a valance at the top of the drapes using a sewing machine ruffler. I figured that it cost me $100 for the fabric and the thread to cover all the windows.

I'm so happy to see someone else who loves to sew! I'm a moderate sewer and I don't work well with patterns. When I make cloths I have to trace items or use measurements. I watch a LOT of You Tube tutorials to learn. Thanks for the link to your page! I hope we can chat about our hobby sometime! God Bless!
