This will be our group photo for the time being. A pair of P.R.R. embossed Brookfields from the Pennsylvania Railroad, CD number 162.5. These were a gift to me and another collector from a collector in that part of the country. We each got one of the pair.

Originally a manufacturer of laboratory glassware for the medical and scientific fields, Brookfield was based in New York and made glass insulators from approximately 1868 until the company shut down its furnaces in 1921. Brookfield closed altogether in 1922.

This one is pretty rough. It's in specimen condition, but it's a specimen from the Hemingray glass dump in Muncie, Indiana. The Hemingray-Muncie glass dump is a pretty iconic place in the world of insulator collecting due to the rare and experimental pieces that have been dug up there over the years. A few years ago I got the chance to visit it myself. This piece is not from my trip, it is one I bought from someone else who dug it up there.

This particular piece is a CD 252 Hemingray-62 cable insulator in carnival glass. Hemingray carnival glass has been dated to having been produced in the years 1932-1936.

Here is one of my favorite pieces. This pic was actually taken by the fellow I bought this piece from but it is one in my collection. CD 151 HG.CO embossed Hemingray in ice aqua color. Kind of like an early version of clear. This piece probably dates from the 1890s. Not a particularly high dollar piece in terms of value but it's always been one of my favorites.

Hello Everyone and thank you for your interest. This group is all about the world of insulator collecting. Due to growing demand for Facebook alternatives in the collecting hobby, I wanted to start a new group here to cover this subject. This will also help the USA.life platform to expand by including more hobbyists and also gives us something else to look at besides all politics all the time.

I hope this will be a nice fun, light-hearted hobby group and maybe we can get some more new collectors interested in taking it up as well.
