The picture below is from an outreach we had at the Mormon Miracle Pageant in Manti, UT. These ladies all represented a plural wife of Joseph Smith. While many Mormons have no problem with Brigham Young having many wives, few were aware that their church founder not only married multiple women, but some had living husbands. Only a few years ago did the LDS Church come out and officially acknowledge this. https://www.mrm.org/marriage-habits

Joseph Smith’s Aberrational Marriage Habits – Mormonism Research Ministry

Doctrine and Covenants, one of four books considered to be sacred by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, states in section 7 that the Apostle John would remain alive on the earth and "prophesy before nations, kindreds, tongues and people" until Jesus comes in His glory. That is the background for this short animated piece.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints claims that even their temple ceremonies are a "restoration" of the way things were done anciently. However, as with most of its teachings, there is no evidence to support this claim. Never did the temple in Jerusalem have live actors perform during "endowments sessions," and they certainly didn't have video piped into various rooms. Still, Jana Reiss, a member of the LDS Church, has some interesting perspectives.

No more live endowment sessions in Mormon temples

Something important is lost when we erase history in the name of efficiency and a franchised, on-brand temple experience.
About

Mormonism Research Ministry is an evangelical Christian organization that challenges the claims of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Founded by Bill McKeever in 1979, MRM use primary LDS sources to show that this organization, started by Joseph Smith in 1830, is not at all a restoration of "true" Christianity as its members are told. Your prayers regarding our mission objective, and respectful comments and inquiries are invited. For more information please see our web site at www.mrm.org.
