Tonight marks the start of Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Memorial Day) in Israel. On this day, a single siren will sound throughout the entire country. For one minute, the entire country will come to a standstill and remember the 6 million lives who were stolen by the Nazis in World War II. It is a moment when we remember why we must stand up to antisemitism and bigotry where ever and whenever it arises.
