Is religion a good thing or a bad thing? It depends on the object of one’s religion. For years, I searched for God within traditional religion, finally concluding that religion begets more religion - vain traditional religion.
Our Creator is found in His creation, not in our buildings, organizations, or groups. Such exist to their own end, and any spiritual benefits realized through them come not because of them but in spite of them. I find God where I find His people: At work, at school, at home, in the market place, hospitals, on the road, even in churches. Wherever God’s people are, there you will find their Maker.
My aim here is to stir reasonable conversation among reasonable people. I speak for no one but myself. Any takers?
