SPOTLIGHT: Conflict in Interest? Who has a financial incentive to block treatment of COVID?

If your government responded to a major physical disaster, like Hurricane Harvey, with a disaster declaration that specifically excluded first responders for rendering aid to the hurricane victims, all sane Texans would be outraged. Then during the attempt to recover from the physical damage caused by the hurricane, an advisory group was formed without any member having recent emergency management experience or skill. You would be further outraged.

Yet, that is exactly what has happened with the COVID emergency disaster declaration. The disaster associated with COVID is not a physical disaster. It did not start as an economic disaster but is about to become one. COIVID is a medical disease that should be handled as a medical issue, yet the front-line medical profession has been shut out of the response to fighting this disease. If that was not bad enough, there are some advisors who appear to have a very serious financial conflict of interest that drives their advice only to a new, very expensive, and most likely dangerous vaccine as the only possible medical solution.

The Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS) vehemently disagrees with this solution. In fact, the AAPS has sued the federal government, Food and Drug Administration (FDA), to allow real medical doctors to treat COVID victims with existing drugs like Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ).

Watch and listen while Dr. Kris Held, AAPS President, along with Andy Shaftaly, Jermery Snavely, and Dr. Jane Orient discuss how we could end the defensive only strategy of masks, lockdown, and isolation policies that are doing irreparable damage to people and our economy.

What they make clear is that the government needs to get out of the way, stop inhibiting medical treatments with existing, safe, and economical drugs by letting real front-line doctors lead the fight and allow them to do what doctors do best, treat their patients.
