House Republicans launched an investigation into Washington, DC, Mayor Muriel Bowser’s proposal to rename or remove historical monuments such as the Washington Monument and the Jefferson Memorial.
House Oversight and Reform Committee Ranking Member James Comer (R-KY) and House Judiciary Committee Ranking Member Jim Jordan (R-OH) called on Bowser to provide all documents and communications regarding her proposal to remove, rename, or contextualize the city’s historical monuments.
