Every Christian Must Answer:
Matthew 16:13-16 NIV
When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?” They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God .”
I am sure the other eleven Disciples echoed Simon Peter's answer, even the one that betrayed him. How could Judas say that and then sell the Son of God for 30 pieces of silver?
Easy. He lied, both to Jesus, to all present and, most importantly, to himself.
Ponder the question. Look into the deepest depths of your heart and answer. If you cannot answer like Simon Peter did (who later denied him after actually seeing and participating in the miracles Jesus performed and Jesus still loved him and used him) then reevaluate your relationship with our Saviour.
It is far better to get the answer now, for yourself, than to just echo what someone else said. You will stand alone before the Judgement Seat...make sure your name is written in the book of life: BELIEVE.
