I've watched The Encounter series on Pure Flix a couple of times, there's now a series called After the Encounter. Bruce Marchiano is interviewed because he plays Jesus, anyway they were interviewing a young man who played a groom to be and his bride to be came into a restaurant to get out of the rain while traveling to Las Vegas to elope. This young man said in the in the scene where his bride to be parents walk into the same restaurant for the same reason took their daughter off to the side to convince her not to marry because they felt she and her groom to be was too young and how he wanted to portray how this young man would be handling her parents meddling. He said; "He felt it was important to walk in his character's shoes." I've never heard an actor say it that way, but if only other actors and actresses would have the same attitude, maybe the message of their role would mean more to them and the message would get into their heart and possibly Hollywood would be a better place filled with better people.
