We Lay It All At Your Feet
By Rebecca Thomas
There’s crime in the government and there’s crime on the street
Sometimes in the middle they even meet
There are drugs and corruption on both sides
No one knows with whom they should confide
Illegals flooding the borders and taking from the citizens
Robbing the children of their innocents
Trafficked and abused they don’t know where to turn
This is not the way they should be taught or learn
They opened up the borders and are taking the wall back down
What will it cause in the cities and towns?
It’s not that we don’t care what happens to them
It’s just the illegal way that they are coming in
We have enough crime of our own we don’t need more
And then someone opens the border and lets them come through the door
They give them food stamps and money and a place to live
While the homeless we have are left without give
They have to beg on the street and go to soup kitchens to eat
Some of them are the nicest people you’ll meet
Some are veterans who served in our wars
When they try to get help all they get are closed doors
Jesus we need You we can’t fix all of this
Like you, we too have been betrayed and dismissed
They pretend to care and give us a few checks
But what will that cost the country that used to be blessed
You are our defender and our protector in whom we rely
Please Oh Father, The God that’s most high
We lay it all down at Your feet and say please
Take each of these requests as we pray on our knees
Help the innocent, the down trodden and the wheat amongst the tares
We know that You’ll do this because You are the one who cares
We have delivered it to You it now lies in Your hands
Thank You for being the God who understands
Amen!
