For Texans....
Just received:

Despite overwhelming opposition from Texas citizens to 'Ban the Bible' bills last legislative session, Democratic state legislators are pushing these highly controversial bills yet again during the current Texas Legislative Session.

Hiding under the disguise of "sexual orientation and gender identity" (SOGI) language, these bills would create new government power to ban the free expression of Christian beliefs, especially biblical teaching on marriage and sexuality.

The Democrat-led Texas House Urban Affairs Committee will hear two #banthebible bills (HB 191 and HB 2045), TOMORROW, March 31 at 10:30 AM in room E1.026.

HB 191 by Rep. Diego Bernal (D) would have the effect of forcing religious homeless shelters to allow biological men to sleep next to women in abuse shelters. HB 2045 by Rep. Ray Lopez (D) would use your taxpayer dollars to create an LGBTQ task force made up exclusively of members of the LGBTQ community to create radical policies like seen in HB 191.

Here is how you can take action:
    •    We need our supporters to join us in testifying or dropping cards at the Texas Capitol tomorrow in opposition to the bills.
    •    The committee is allowing Texans to submit public comment electronically here.
    •    We also need our supporters to continue to contact their Texas legislators in opposition to every #banthebible Bill, including HB 191 and HB 2045.
Our team will provide you all the support that you need, including talking points and step-by-step instructions. Please immediately contact us at policy@txvalues.org if you are able to attend the hearing to testify or have questions about submitting your public comment.

If you can’t make it to the Texas Capitol, please take action to contact your Texas Legislators in opposition to these bills and submit your public comment electronically to the Texas House Urban Affairs Committee.
