I just saw a documentary on Thomas Cochrane, Scotland's greatest Naval Captain. Like Trump, he achieved greatness and did a lot of good for his country. He was also falsely convicted multiple times due to politics, corruption, cronyism, and favoritism. He created many powerful enemies as a result of his efforts to reform the system and oppose the corrupt wealthy aristocratic elite. He was loved by the people, but hated by the government.
