I posted this elsewhere, but I will repost here for the benefit of all to see.

"The Crusades were a response to Islam. It wasn't like what Islam is doing AT ALL. Islam wants one world religion and will not stop until there is ONLY Islam. Crusaders wanted an to control Jerusalem and to drive Islam barbarians out of Europe.

Jesus did use violence when he drove out tax collectors from the Temple. He also advised his followers to sell their coats and buy swords. He said 'I come not for peace but with a sword'! He also had some very dangerous friends who were probably his body guards.

Remember Judas Iscariot? Iscariot isn't a last name, it's a mistranslated title. The real word they should have translated from is 'Sicarii' and it roughly translates to 'assassin,' 'hit man' or 'dagger man.' A sicarii was a type of curved dagger. The sicarii were a group of zealots that worked for the Temple who would assassinate blasphemers. These guys would KILL with no questions asked when given the word and they were EXEMPT from the Jewish Laws on murder because it was considered to be justice by G-Ds own hand!

Whether Jesus ever used the Sicarrii to purpose isn't the point here. The fact that Jesus had such a man in his inner circle of Apostles is! The difference here between Jesus and Mohammad is this...

Jesus was a member of the Hebrew royal line trying to free Jews in their own land from Roman oppression. What he did or didn't do was in his OWN country, and against an occupying force. Yet still he showed restraint.
Mohammad on the other hand invaded places he had no right to. He WAS the invading, occupying and oppressing force! He didn't use restraint, but instead took revenge on his enemies (Jews, Christians and Pagans alike)!"
