The well-known fan-fiction RPG game, World of Warcraft, got its first major update, The Burning Crusade, in early 2007. and along with its new content, there was lots more lore to discover. World of Warcraft had been launched just two years before then, and by the when The Burning Crusade came around the game was already rising in popularity with WOW WoTLK Classic Gold. Fans wanted to play the mysterious world of Outland and meet the most popular protagonists from Warcraft III.

The sequel was set within the broken home of the orcs in the form of the remnants of it after chaos ripped the planet in half and warped its environments beyond understanding. At first, the planet was called Draenor and was home of ogres, orcs and Draenei. This was before that the Dark Portal was built and the First War ensued with the orcish Horde advancing on Azeroth. The Fel energy poisoned the land and with time numerous lush ecosystems died out. After the defeat of the Horde's in the Second War, the orcs who remained on Draenor and led by Ner'zhul, the warlock, made the fatal error of using strong Azerothian artifacts to invade other worlds.

This devastating spell returned fire and the massive number of portals that were opened to break the veil between Draenor and the Twisting Nether, the planar that connects worlds and the energy that was released broke the earth into pieces. The few remaining landmasses had been suspended in the Nether as the remaining ones living were forced to fight for their lives on a wounded planet, which is now known as the Outland. This is the place where World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade is set, and players were able to explore the beautiful remnants of an earth that was torn into pieces.

Since the launch of World of warcraft, players had only been offered four races in each faction. Orcsand tauren, trolls and the undead of Horde and humans, dwarves and night elves and gnomes to make up the Alliance. Paladin and shaman classes were also categorized as faction-specific, as in lore, only certain races could be made into specific classes. Shamans were not available to the Horde and paladins belonged to the Alliance but, as of World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade, this was about to change.

Blood elves were to be a completely new element to the Horde in that, though they had been part of the Alliance before beginning the Third War, they had since been forced to find refuge elsewhere following their devastation at the hands of Arthas Menethil and the Scourge with cheap WOW WoTLK Classic Gold. In World of Warcraft do have an affinity to the Light and could become paladins, hence the Horde therefore having access to the class. However, instead of asking the Light to help them the Horde took it with means, making them slaves to the loving Naaru. The paladins who were a subclass of the paladins were identified as Blood Knights, but they have since replaced this method with "cruelty-free" recourse to the Light.
