HBO is currently adapting The Last of Us with Chornobyl's Craig Mazin and The Last of Us co-creator Neil Druckmann at the helm of the production.


In the movie, Mandalorian's star Pedro Pascal will play Joel Miller and Game of Thrones actor Bella Ramsey is set to play Ellie Williams, two roles that carry a great deal of baggage because of their emotional arcs and how their characters are to the fans.


The show is anticipated to follow the narrative of the games very close, but it could have new additions which reportedly contain flashbacks and characters who were mentioned , but were not featured within the video games. The show isn't set with a set release date but is expected to launch sometime in 2023.
