Steamforged Games OSRS gold announced collaboration with game designer Jagex to bring RuneScape to tabletops later this year. The MMORPG will get not just one, but two new tablestop versions, a board game and a tabletop-based role-playing game. The board game will go live on Kickstarter later this year and the tabletop version will immediately hit stores.

The games will draw inspiration from RuneScape's fantasy realm, Gielinor. The games will feature some of the same characters, stories, as well as locations they MMORPG has become famous for throughout its long time. The game's board game will take one maximum of 5 players in a campaign based on quests through the lands of Gielinor.

In the announcement of Steamforged, participants will "craft and upgrade their equipment to improve their character, cook special recipes, engage with NPCs and test their abilities while exploring different regions of the globe". Just as with the online MMORPG, players are also likely to be able to complete side quests in order to complete the game's story.

Additionally, the TTRPG will comprise an exquisitely illustrated and well-illustrated core guide that will contain all the information required by players to play a RuneScape TTRPG. With it, players can build their own characters as they set off on a journey into the world of Gielinor to design "unique and exciting quests". Furthermore the TTRPG guidebook can be "fully in line with fifth edition ruleset of the world's top role-playing tabletop game".
