WoTLK Gold lets players play the game as it was nearly 15 years earlier, following the launch of version 1.12 "Drums of War" update. Blizzard declares that they consider that time period to be the right gaming balance that is similar to its initial launch condition and has also gotten rid of some of the flaws of the launch. The new version also includes several updates to the game's engine including modern server infrastructure as well as Battle.net Social features.

If you're already an existing WoW subscriber, you will have access to Classic too, without cost. WoTLK Classic will release content in stages, following the initial order of new content.

This is an WoW intended for players who have played the game from the beginning and want to recreate the feeling.
