Blizzard has announced a change to how you might pay on World of Warcraft --going forward The only way to pay for Game Time is to buy it for 60 days. The 30. 90 days, and 180-day Game Time offerings are going away, while just 60 days will remain. The game's subscription offers will remain the same (more on that later).

It is important to note that this Game Time change is effective immediately. However, any time you may have purchased in the past will remain at the current rate and duration. In the future, your only option is to purchase 60 days of Game Time for $30 USD.

Blizzard announced that it is making these modifications following an "review on the available services that are available in every currency."

"We appreciate that players choose to spend their time with World of Warcraft , and we're committed to making sure the game continues providing players with an excellent experience," Blizzard said.

For WoW subscriptions, nothing is changing. You can still pay $15/month for one month, or $14/month if you lock in for three months. The rate goes down to $13 per month if you opt to sign up for six month.

WoW remains extremely popular, over 15 years after it first came out. The game's popularity increased by 2020 after the introduction of WoW Classic which has evolved into a massive MMO independently. The next expansion for the game, The Burning Crusade, is now available for beta testers.

The success with WoW Classic has surprised even Blizzard which was thinking that the game could only appeal to the most loyal fans. Chief executive producer John Hight told P2Pah: "It definitely amazed us."

The singer added: "When we put out Classic, we weren't sure whether it would be a major thing or not? We thought"Our core players are most likely to really love this, so let's do this to them.' And then, no it was a large community of WoW players. It was as large as our current WoW community. This surprised us," Hight said. "We realizing, 'Oh godsh we're required to support two communities. How do we accomplish this?'"
