Diablo 4 all for the for the sake of humanity. His role in the coming game is not yet clear however, there are possible ways that this key character could factor into the future of the series.

Diablo 3 gets deep into the Tyrael saga when he transforms into"the" Fallen Star by tearing off his own wings , and then falling to Sanctuary in which the descendents of Nephalem reside. As he joins forces with a powerful descendant of Tyrael, Tyrael eliminates the primary evils and takes responsibility for his Black Soulstone. After the Archangel of Death, Maltheal, went after the stone, and then became angry with all his friends and Tyrael was the one who took his friend to Pandemonium to destroy death itself.

Tyrael chooses to keep his mortal body, but then reunites with his angelic brethren to become both the Aspect of Justice as well as of Wisdom. Diablo 3 ends with him looking to see if his new mortal counterpart, who might be corrupted, will be the new challenge to Heaven, Hell, and Sanctuary and even the very existence of life itself. The Aspect of Justice and Wisdom will not be able to sit back while Inarius marches an army upon Hell to find his former love, Lilith.
