In the ugly news, Sony's stock suffered a massive blow WOTLK Gold this week, plummeting 2.75 percent on Tuesday. The stock fell after two analysts who had downgraded the company due to concerns about its gaming division Sony Computer tainment. One analyst expressed concerns about the PS3 hardware with reports that a lot of the consoles that were on display at the Tokyo Game Show floor froze in the event of the consoles were overheated.

A Sony spokesperson was furious and said that the "PS3 doesn't suffer from an overheating issue." He did offer an exception, stating that "the environment conditions at TGS can be used to test any electrical device" and, if "there were instances of a unit that required restarting the system, it was due to the harsh conditions of the TGS hall."

The rival of Sony Nintendo revealed this week that it will be making adjustments to its profit forecast by 20.5 percent. The Mario factory now anticipates that its net income for its entire fiscal year, which runs through March 31st, 2007 will reach 100 billion yen (about $850 million) an increase from an estimated 83 billion yen (about $705 million). The rise was partly attributed to the weakening yen as well as positive predictions regarding the release of the Wii console, which will go to market in November in both the US as well as Japan.

But the primary reason Nintendo has changed its plans is the rapid growth of sales for the DS. In its entire budget year Nintendo is increasing sales projections for the handheld by 18 percent and increased the number of units from 17 million up to 20 million.
