Screen Rant sat down with Grinding Gear Games managing director Chris Wilson to discuss the latest version of the game, Path of Exile: Heist.

Grinding Gear Games, the developer of Path of Exile, has maintained the latest expansion in the past few months, but we can now share the details. The new extension is Path of Exile: Heist, and it will be released on PC on September 18, and it will release the console on September 23. Chris Wilson, the purpose is to discuss all the details of the robbery and what players can expect at the time of release.

Heist has added a lot of new content to “Path of Exile” for players to check out. The game includes a new robbery alliance, 13 NPCs, POE Currency, experimental basic item types, a new set of enchantments and more other features. Wilson told us that the team originally planned to release the game in June, but the complex situation caused by the COVID-19 shutdown has delayed the development work. Wilson said that although New Zealand is still closed, the team finally adapted to work from home, which allowed them to complete the update.

Path of Exile: Heist’s Heist Alliance will require players to travel to a new area called Rogue Harbor, where they can meet a group of gangsters and begin planning a large-scale criminal adventure together. These new predators have different obstacles, such as locked doors or traps, and players will have to recruit special skills to help them. The purpose of each heist is to get it through the area without sounding an alarm or warning the guard that you are coming. If the player enters the safe triggering no alarms, the piranha will receive an alert and the player must quickly decide what to steal and then try to keep it alive.

Players can choose many types of gangsters from the update. Each of these gangsters has specific skills, which are essential to pass the heist without triggering the alarm or not knowing how to successfully escape. Four of the gangsters will provide players with information about the location of each heist or provide them with transportation. The nine people will have skills such as unlocking or dismantling, which can help players successfully enter and exit the heist area. In order to effectively use these thieves, players will need contracts and tokens, which are brand new items in Path of Exile: Heist.

The contract is a map that represents the location of each heist, so that players can know where the heist occurred and the skills required by the crook to effectively complete the robbery. Like all items in exile, contracts can be designed and modified. Players can use all traditional item making methods to change the difficulty of the heist, so that players can get better rewards and expand in difficulty.

Marking is a new form of currency added to “Path of Exile”: Heist, players will rent thieves, can also complete other goals or Buy POE Currency for payment. Players can earn contracts and tokens by looting or killing enemies. These can help the player to successfully rob successfully in the heist case.
