Reflecting on life, the universe, and everything.

A Simple Departure

The winds of change continue to move in this life of mine.  To relish in its coolness on a hot summer day or feel its bitterness on a cold winter morning.  The wind comes and goes as though it had no regard for my will or perhaps not the will of anything or anyone.  But I come full circle to the realization that the wind was created by the giver and taker of life.  For some reason there must be change.  I must hold fast.

When a change does happen—and it will—I can find strength in the fact that I am never alone.  He is with me.  But change, I know, sometimes hurts and cuts deep.  They say if it was simple anyone could do it.  That may be so but nonetheless it is something that can open our eyes and humble our hearts and even then, we know we look and feel through the blurred veil of our own reality.   What thread do we really sew with?  Did we really make this garment called life, carefully winding our paths through a dangerous land where we trust in our own strength?  All I know is there is a Savior for all of that, if we just follow His path.  We know His ways are perfect.

The giants in the land have all gone way.  It was a simple departure after it was made known who get’s all the Glory.  If we stand, we must stand on His shoulders because He is all we’ve got.  Truth be known He is the only Truth.  One master, one mind, one unity.  And for that I am grateful that my own reality was left shaken and bewildered, because the giver must give and the taker must take.  And we know by this that He loves us immensely.  We do not walk alone.
