Of course they end up with lots of players, the majority always pushes what they need - plus they cultivate a community that pushes out anyone who doesn't fall by choking their content out viciously. RS3, in contrast, takes the educated route of appealing to lots of different players with lots of different content - rather than letting people clamor against each other in polls they say,"Don't worry my children. Playing with OSRS means you're needing to involve yourself in politics - rather than just enjoying yourself, suddenly you're making game balance choices? Uhh? Which will be the devs even being paid for if they can not do their job to make good choices for Runescape? RS3's battle system has so much depth it makes an OSRS player's mind spin - RS3 is for a more refined crowd that can take some opportunity to learn about an assortment of abilities and master them all to optimize their art in combat. OSRS gamers will need to be spoonfed their own DPS by equipping different gear sometimes and"flicking" prayers instead of just creating sensible solutions to providing players near-infinite prayer but for a reasonable cost (blessed flask). Seriously though - the combat. Holy shit. Telos? That's a chef's kiss stuff right there. The sophistication OSRS has is. Quaint. My god, Along with the PVP. I love PVP at RS3, and that I still learn things.
