Welcome to our Act 5 Guide for Diablo 2 Resurrected (D2R). Here we will lay out all the information, tips and tricks to complete Act 5 with ease.

Act V - Lord of Destruction - is the final Act of Diablo II in addition to along with the expansion. Act V - Lord of Destruction - is Diablo II's final act. Act is named in honor of Baal Lord of Destruction. Lord of Destruction that the players must try to prevent from reaching the Arreat Summit and the Worldstone.

When playing with the expansion, the player goes through a gateway opened by Tyrael within the Pandemonium Fortress after defeating Diablo and smashing his Soulstone.

The portal is located in Harrogath, "the Last Bastion of Order on the slopes of Mount Arreat" according to Malah.

As being the Children of Bul-Kathos, and not letting anyone else from even entering the mountains without the fear or death. barbarians have a tendency to be hesitant to believe that the new heroes are trustworthy. Only Malah who is the fort's healer believes that the new heroes are useful. The last surviving Elder of the Council of Elders, Nihlathak, is especially mistrusting.

However, after going out on the battlefield during the siege of Harrogath and beating One of Baal's commanders, Shenk the Overseer combat , and lifting the attack on Harrogath, opinions start to shift towards the heroes. Larzuk the Blacksmith is willing to connect one of the player's items for reward, an honour that's not usually given to anyone.

Qual-Kehk isn't entirely influenced by this, so he sends out the heroes to rescue barbarians who are held on the battle field. After overcoming obstacles and hordes demons, the heroes manage to free a number of strong warriors. Qual-Kehk lets a few of them to be hired to assist players on their journey.

Malah asks the player to help her locate the daughter who disappeared from the Head of the Council of Elders, Anya. Malah is convinced that Nihlathak is responsible in her demise. Using the clues provided by Malah and the other players, they find Anya trapped in the Crystalline Passage, trapped in the ice-filled prison.

After she has been rescued Nihlathak goes missing in a mysterious manner.

It was revealed that Nihlathak would have to ruin Sanctuary in order to rescue Harrogath. He was prepared to offer his Relic of the Ancients to Baal, allowing Baal an access point to the Worldstone without being challenged by the Ancients.

The heroes attempt to catch up to Baal and come across the Ancients which they have to fight, but they are disappointed that they do not possess the Relic. They triumph over the Nephalem spirits, and gain access into the Worldstone Chamber.

Baal had already been there for some while, preparing. With the best warriors Hell can offer, he made every effort to stop them. After defeating his minions, and then battling the Lord of Destruction himself a gruelling battle.

Once defeated, it's too for the Worldstone and Tyrael is reluctantly destroyed it in order to stop the Prime Evils from gaining their hands on its power.

Fifth Act is the longest of the games unlike the fourth one. Layouts in this act is far more varied than in any previous one. This act is more diverse than any other. Bloody Foothills is an arena for battle, which is mostly just a long cliff, but it also has siege equipment as well as obstacles, and then there's frozen levels of various kinds in both outdoor and indoor areas, along with dungeons in various forms.

Most of the Act V NPCs are located within the town fortified of Harrogath. Certain NPCs, such as Anya or Nihlathak (then an infamous boss) can be found in the mountains. The famous Ancients are also found away from Harrogath, outside the Worldstone Keep, and you will meet Tyrael when you have killed Baal.

Like all Acts with the exception of Act III, where nearly all quests are directly related to the story line of the game, Act III directly relates to the story line of the game, Act IV has heavy involvement of storyline in the six quests. They all are part in the storyline. If you were to leave Harrogath to the invasion but you'd have no way to contact Deckard Cain Malah etc.

The quests are quite easy to complete, with some offering higher rewards than others, and are worthwhile to take the time to finish each one.

Although Larzuk is able to trigger this quest, it is able to be completed without having to speak with him. He tasks you to prove your strength by killing the beast who is in charge of the siege on Harrogath. It's a lengthy walk, but during normal difficulty it should not prove to be too difficult, or difficult. Perhaps the simplest way to get around is to remain close to one side of the space, and walk through blockades and steps, engaging enemies as the player sees fit. There is a narrowed passage halfway through the area as well as a lengthy stairs leading to the next section called the Frigid Highlands.

The quest can be completed by defeating Shenk the Overseer who is on the farthest side of this area, creating an array of attacks from the elemental realm to rain down and all creatures within the range of these attacks are likely to be killed. It is possible to continue climbing the stairs to where there will be a point of entry that will allow quick access to town.

Return to Larzuk to receive your reward - the elf will make sockets for the un-socketed weapon, helmet, body armor or shield you choose. Similar to the Malus quest, don't consider yourself obligated to avail the reward if you have anything of value available currently and just go back to earn the quest when you are ready (for instance, placing the socket inside Cleglaw's Claw is not a good decision, as its usefulness is all but gone by now). This quest can add the socket to uncommon, set and unique items. It is also possible to place a random amount of sockets in superior white or higher quality stock items that are ethereal, which can't be accomplished with an Horadric Cube.

Meetings

The monsters of Act V are certainly unique in their capabilities and provide an element of variety and excitement. Firstly, the player has allies they encounter barbarian warriors who, in spite being hoplessly outnumbered will fight with determination. They may benefit by party-friendly skills like Life Tap, Battle Orders and Prayer, but unlike your hireling, they are unable to take advantage of healing potion. Without help, their lifespan is typically very short.

The player may encounter various creatures with distinct abilities. Although the Enslaved are typical monsters that focus on melee, a player can also encounter fast Demon Imps that can teleport and shoot fireballs as well as being surprisingly lacking in hit points. Also, you can encounter Death Maulers, who can also utilize a melee attack, but earn a reputation for their ranged attack , which fires tentacles through the ground that explode to attack a distant target. So long as their target is moving, it is not likely to be an issue, since they'll explode at a location based on where the victim was when the attack began. If an individual is caught in one place, however this could be fatal when Maulers are encountered in groups.

It is also possible to come across Lashers, apparently commanding the hordes of Enslaved. They're quite durable, but are not directly dangers. They are able to provide the Enslaved with a buff to damage or transform them into a minion which can explode and cause a lot of damage. Additionally, it has a chill effect that will last for an instant or two. They also possess other abilities like Attract, and the ability to heal the Enslaved though these are used less often. In addition, there are demonic catapults which will rain down random attacks from the elemental. They are very robust and can be used at a melee range. However, when they are at, they are quite helpless and can be easily dispatched as they close in on their target. The suicide minions are rather dangerous, however, they require a half second to explode, so remaining moving can cause them to fail to detonate. Hirelings and party minions also take no damage from the effects.

There are two truly unique creatures you can find in this zone. The first one is Dac Farren Dac Farren, a Cold-Enchanted Demon Imp located halfway through the region. The other is Shenk the Overseer, a Lasher. Shenk is surrounded by a large crowd of Enslaved minions, and he is not averse to making mobile explosives out of them.

You might have noticed that upon entering the Frigid Highlands The Quest Log started to shine. Talk to Qual-Kehk for more information. The mission is to free 15 soldiers from the Frigid Highlands. Just wander around Highlands and search for fortresses in which are wooden prisons that have five barbarians in them. Just destroy the cage's door, and barbarians will take city portals to escape. Find three cages and return to Qual-Kehk for a reward. He will give you three runes: Tal, Ral and Ort. If you decide to place them in a three-socket shield in the order Ral-Ort-Tal Then you'll be creating an Ancient's Pledge Rune Word which can provide good resistance bonuses. However, the player is free to decide to not use the runes immediately and reserve them for something else. You can also choose to hire barbarians in Harrogath beginning today.

Encounters

You can encounter two types of Demon Imps and the Monster known as the Crush Beast that allows them to unleash more devastating fire attacks by letting them rest in the basket upon their rears. They may annoy players with their war stomp that makes the screen shake and also an effective melee attack. Similar to the area before There are also fortified towers which let Demon Imps Demon Imps utilize more powerful weapons that rely on fire and also provide significant damage reduction before collapsing. Additionally, Death Maulers and Enslaved are also found in this area.

This area hosts three super-unique creatures: Eldritch is the Rectifier and can be found at any time a short distance from the point of entry in this area as well as Sharptooth Slayer, an Overlord with a host of Enslaved minions that are always located near one of the prisons. The third monster is a Death Mauler called Eyeback the Unleashed, always found at the very end of the zone right before the Plateau.

Quest 3: Prison of Ice

This quest is not required. It is possible to complete Act V without this quest accomplished.

The quest will be activated upon the completion of the previous quest However, it is possible to complete the quest without having to speak with Malah. The alchemist Anya has gone missing and wants you to find her. Though she does not have any clues as to where she is, the quest log tells players to look for the Frozen River underneath and through the Crystalline Passage to find her. Continue on to the Arreat Plateau. While it is not necessary but logging the waypoints in this location can significantly shorten your travel time should you be killed in one of the regions further on.

In the farthest reaches of the Plateau at the farthest point, players will find the entrance to The Crystalline Passage, a subterranean zone that must be traversed to complete the subsequent quests. The waypoint is located here that is worth a look since it could be quite a distance away from the Plateau or, worse, from the frigid Highlands. The entry point to the dungeon which forms The Frozen River is always secured by a gang of monsters who are champions. just like the stairs of the Catacombs of Act I, are never to be found on the wall. There is also an exit in this area to the next subterranean zone, dubbed The Glacial Trail.

The Frozen River itself is a random maze, which resembles it's Crystalline Passage. Anya will be located at the end of this maze, and she will be asking you to aid her. Return to the town and speak with Malah and ensure you have an open box in your inventory for the potion that will remove Nihilathak's curse. When you return, and click Anya, she will activate her own town portal , and go to Harrogath. If you return to the town, Malah will have the advantage of a permanant +10 percent bonus to your resistances. It's in the form two scrolls and can be activated just like that of the Book of Skill that Radament drops. If you talk to Anya and she will reward you with an uncommon item that is specific to your class for your character.

Encounters

The Arreat Plateau, in its normal difficulty has a handful of kinds of monsters. The player will encounter Lashers and Slayers that are slightly more powerful versions of those you encounter within The Frigid Highlands. It is possible that there are Demon Imps if their spawners exist here as well as a superuniqe Crush Beast known as Thresh Socket that can be found at the end of the region.

In the Crystalline Passage, there will be several newly created creatures. There will be Frozen Horrors that have an Arctic Blast attack as well as melee attacks that will always shatter upon being killed as well as a possibility of encountering a Wendigo-like creature known as an Abominable that can inflict massive damage and deal knockback and cold damage. There are Succubi named Stygian Harlots frequently use curses that reduce the victim's defense , or a curse that makes the victim damage themselves if their maximum mana is higher than their life span. It is also possible to encounter the Minotaur-like creature known as a Moon Lord who can not only cause massive damage, but can also activate a Frenzy ability to make themselves much more risky.

Lastly, the Frozen River is home to numerous monsters and creatures, however they are mostly variations of the ones found in the Crystalline Passage. Apart from the monsters that are similar to those of the previous regions there is the possibility to meet a self-resurrecting zombie called Rot Walker. Rot Walker that can attack and knock the player around. Be careful not to attract the attention of the group and it shouldn't be difficult. If they revive themselves, however, they can be killed for rewards and experience, unless the body is destroyed.

There's a super-unique one and his pack, which guards Anya's prison. Frozenstein can be found in all times with modifications Cold Enchanted and Mana Burn Keep that in mind when you reach the end of the cavern.
