New book out. $9.00 Paperback on Amazon and $2.99 Kindle on Amazon.
Excerpt:

“I mean that you must fight our cook. The winner will remain cook or will become our new cook,” the Col. explained.
There were a few chuckles emitted from some of the men.
“Is not that unorthodox, sir?” Max asked.
“Maybe in other forts that is true,” Colonel Knight explained, “But out here we all must learn to fight for our position. Do you wish to tell our cook that his food is bad?”
“It would be a pleasure,” Max nodded and the rest of the men laughed.
The Colonel laughed and said, “Clear the tables and stand back.” He turned to the Sgt. and said, “Go get Riley.”
The Sgt. called out, “Quinn, there is someone out here that doesn’t like your cooking.”
Immediately a man came from the kitchen who Max recognized as one in the kitchen who seemed to command everyone’s respect when Max was working back there. He was an impressive man in size with a pug nose highlighting a fearsome face.
When he approached, the Colonel called out, “Riley, this man here is complaining about your food.”
Riley sneered, “Eh-h? What is wrong with it?”
Max shrugged and said, “It would take too long to list them. Maybe you should ask what is right about your cooking.”
“You know that the last man that complained about my cooking is walking with a limp. That is when he gets strong enough to walk,” Riley informed Max.
Max nodded, “Jah, probably so. He must have gotten food poisoning from your bad cooking.”
Most of the bystanders groaned and gasped.
Riley breathed in and then sprung. He charged Max. Max stood in place with a smile on his face. Riley’s initial swing missed as Max just stood forward a little. He grabbed Riley’s shoulders and fell back, taking Riley with him. Once his back was on the ground, he used Riley’s inertia to flip him. There was a crashing of tables and chairs and some cussing.
Max calmly took off his uniform jacket and handed it to Hans as Riley unsteadily rose to his feet.
“You’re gonna pay for that, you little squirt!” Riley called out as he charged again.
Max allowed for him to get close and ducked under his arm, tripping Riley as he went by. Riley fell flat on his face. He roared when he started to stand back up. When he was half way up, Max put a bone crushing knee in his face. Riley almost fell backward, then fell forward and laid still.
There was a stunned silence and a new cook.

Being a ramrod ain’t easy, even if everything goes right. But when the rancher can’t hire men, can’t get cattle to market, doesn’t know who his enemy is, can’t graze where he wants to, lets others use his land, is running low on funds and that is just a few of the obstacles, then any reasonable man would pass that by. Cy Castling apparently was not a reasonable man. He took on the job, ignoring what he didn’t have at his disposal, and looking at what he had. He soon learned he was short on facilities and long on enemies. Still, he was persistent in making his boss successful, hoping for a big reward at the end of the trail.

This is my best seller. If you like westerns and read it, you'll see why. Amazon Kindle only $2.99 Amazon Paperback - $9.99

This is my new book. It is the sequel to Wyoming Thunder.
You may find this on Amazon. The Kindle edition is only $2.99. The hardcopy is $9.99. I'm sorry the price is rather high, but that is almost rock bottom that Amazon will let me. As you know, my writings are morally clean and, from what my fans say, very entertaining. Also, this book depicts the life in San Francisco in 1886. It is educational.
Cap Summers was a peaceful man, or so he thought. However, he had the misfortune to tangle with greedy cattlemen of the Cheyanne Club in Wyoming. They had tried to kill him, but that didn’t work out so well for the cattlemen. The cattlemen didn’t fare so well and they asked the government for a solution. The government yielded to their desires and strongly suggested that Cap move on to San Francisco. The government’s reasoning wasn’t well thought out. If Cap could get in trouble with the surrounding local community that was sparsely populated, think of what trouble he could get into in a crowded city? Although Cap vowed to not get into trouble, it wasn’t long before he was knee deep in taking on international intrigue, kidnapping, corrupt gambling, the re-emergence of Black Bart, gambling, jewel theft, just to name a few.

If you are sitting home bored, why not read a book. Especially one of mine. I write mainly westerns and they are true to life. Here is one of my most popular. It will entertain you and teach you what it was like on a real ranch back in the late 1800s.
The Best Ramrod Under the Sun
