Right now, the world stands on the verge of an escalating regional war as Iran promises to retaliate against Israel for its latest killing of a Hamas negotiator.

Appeals Court Upholds Law Banning Drag Shows for Children

A federal appeals court has upheld a Tennessee law banning drag show performances in front of children.

In an opinion published July 18, a three-judge panel on the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals upheld Tennessee’s Adult Entertainment Act. Enacted in 2023, the legislation declares that “it is an offense for a person to perform adult cabaret entertainment” at any location where the show could be “viewed by a person who is not an adult.”

“Adult cabaret entertainment” is defined in the legislation to include performances featuring “topless dancers, go-go dancers, exotic dancers, male or female impersonators, or similar entertainers.”

A federal judge in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Tennessee put the law on hold before it was to take effect in March 2023, describing it as an “unconstitutional restriction on free speech under the First Amendment.”

The district court decision only applied to Shelby County, the largest county in the state and home to Memphis. The LGBTQ theatre company Friends of George’s, identified in the 6th Circuit opinion as “an organization that ‘aims to provide a space outside of bars and clubs where people can enjoy drag shows,’” performs most of its shows in Shelby County and successfully sought an opinion from a federal court preventing the enforcement of the Adult Entertainment Act there.

But last week’s decision by the 6th Circuit reversed the lower court’s decision. Judge John Nalbandian, appointed to the bench by former President Donald Trump, authored the court’s opinion. He was joined by George H.W. Bush-appointed Judge Edward Siler. Judge Andre Mathis, appointed to the bench by President Joe Biden, dissented.

As Olympics Ceremony Celebrates Debauchery, Believers React

Believers around the world are expressing offense over the Opening Ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics, which featured drag queens reenacting Da Vinci’s The Last Supper, as well as other inappropriate acts.

During the drag performance, the group assembled themselves around a table, a lesbian woman in the middle with a semblance of a halo above her head, to create a tableau resembling the painting—which depicts Jesus and His disciples during the Lord’s Supper not long before Christ was crucified. The scene played out on a bridge over the Seine River overlooking the Eiffel Tower.

At least one minor was involved in the drag display, which offended many.

“Why would the International Olympic Committee allow the opening ceremonies to feature men in drag parodying the Last Supper?” Franklin Graham posted on Facebook. “Even more than being disrespectful to Christians, I would be concerned about being disrespectful to God. His Word tells us, ‘Be not deceived, God is not mocked’ (Galatians 6:7). … Whether you’re Catholic, Orthodox, Anglican, or Protestant, it is offensive.”

C Spire, a Mississippi-based telecommunications and technology company, pulled its advertising from the games in response to the spectacle. “We were shocked by the mockery of the Last Supper during the opening ceremonies of the Paris Olympics,” the company tweeted. “C Spire will be pulling our advertising from the Olympics.”

Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves reposted C Spire’s tweet, commending the company’s decision. “I am proud to see the private sector in Mississippi step up and put their foot down,” he wrote. “God will not be mocked. C Spire drew a common-sense, appropriate line.”

Biden Outlines Plan to ‘Reform’ Supreme Court

President Joe Biden has announced a plan to “reform the Supreme Court” by advocating for a constitutional amendment, term limits on Supreme Court justices, and a binding, enforceable code of conduct. Critics call the proposal a dangerous subversion of the Constitution.

In an op-ed for Fox News, First Liberty President and CEO Kelly Shackleford and former U.S. Attorney General Bill Barr wrote, “The left continues these moves to take over the Supreme Court because they are angry about recent decisions that have not gone their way.”

In fact, Biden cited the decision to overturn Roe v. Wade—allowing states to make their own laws concerning abortion—as an example of a “dangerous” and “extreme” decision that “overturn[ed] settled legal precedents.”

Barr and Shackleford continued, “To protect religious freedom and all of our cherished liberties, judges must be able to make decisions without fear of partisan retribution from the executive or legislative branches.”

Many say these reforms would turn the Supreme Court into a political tool as opposed to a body meant to objectively rule based on the law and the Constitution. House Speaker Mike Johnson and others predict that the proposals will not have the majority approval they would need in Congress in order to go anywhere.

Johnson posted on X: “President Biden’s proposal to radically overhaul the U.S. Supreme Court would tilt the balance of power and erode not only the rule of law, but the American people’s faith in our system of justice. … It is telling that Democrats want to change the system that has guided our nation since its founding simply because they disagree with some of the Court’s recent decisions. This dangerous gambit of the Biden-Harris Administration is dead on arrival in the House.”

My blood is boiling.

We are being humiliated at these Games.

I thought I'd seen it all after the abhorrent blasphemous attacks against our faith at the Paris 2024 Opening Ceremony.

Look at what happened to our fellow Christians:

Brazilian surfer Joao Chianca was targeted for being Christian. He was forced to remove a Christ the Redeemer image from his board.

Then there's Raissa Leal, a young Catholic skater who won a bronze medal but was told she couldn’t thank Jesus Christ publicly!

Undeterred, she signed "Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life" in sign language.

Can’t you see what they are doing? They are clearly trying to silence us!

We were humiliated at the opening ceremony with a grotesque parody of the Last Supper.

Now they continue to pick on us. It seems like anyone can perform and express freely except Christians.

Our faith is under attack, and we cannot stand by silently.

We cannot stand idle while our faith is mocked and disrespected.
