Day 101: Read Romans 12; (and I'm adding) Psalm 84; Numbers 13-14
From: From the Bible App Devotion "Walking With Him Daily Romans Bible Plan"
Devotional: Read – Romans 12
Romans 12:1 - 2 "Therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, I urge you to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing and perfect will of God."
What does it mean to be a "living sacrifice"? Have you ever thought about it? In my interpretation of this, I have seen a sacrifice defined in this way: the offering of life or some material possession to God as propitiation. When I think about a sacrifice in these two ways and I see that we are called to be a living sacrifice, I start to understand that in order to live as God has called me to live, I have to surrender myself constantly to Him. For example, give up all that I am and realize that I am not my own; I am bought with a price. This means I have to die to my sinful nature and live for Christ. I have to consciously choose to focus on Christ every day, every moment, and every choice that I make. And once you start to realize that you are not in control of yourself, and you offer yourself to God, it is amazing what He can do in your life. Surrender yourself to God today. Ask Him what is in your life that is keeping you from fully giving yourself to Him to use in His will.
My Prayer: Holy Father, Thank you for sending Your Son to die on the cross for my sins and for raising Him to life on the third day. I put my trust in You and Your Son, and I know that whatever happens, You are ALWAYS in control and Your love will prevail. I trust in You and I will follow You all the days of my life! Show me where I keep stumbling so I can hand it over to You so You can put an end to it for me. I trust Your judgment. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
